About Us

Our Mission

Founded in 2010, Hooks for Heroes Connecticut, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer charitable organization dedicated to supporting seriously wounded or injured service members and veterans. Our mission focuses on assisting those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) by providing them with opportunities for healing, camaraderie, and support. Through our initiatives, we honor their service and sacrifice, offering them the care and recognition they deserve.

Our Impact

Through our diverse programs and partnerships with various veteran organizations, we connect veterans and their families to meaningful opportunities for engagement and support. From fishing trips and island retreats to group events, medical services, and access to additional benefits, we create experiences that foster connection, resilience, and healing. By promoting shared experiences and building strong support networks, we contribute to strengthening the well-being of our veteran community. Our commitment to expanding and enhancing support for veterans across Connecticut remains steadfast, as we strive to make a lasting impact on their lives and those of their families.

Supporting Our Wounded Heroes

Walter Reed Weekend Retreat

Each year, Hooks for Heroes Connecticut proudly brings severely wounded troops from Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, to Stamford for a well-deserved weekend of rest and appreciation. These brave service members, currently undergoing therapy and medical treatment for their war injuries, are given a special opportunity to step away from the hospital and enjoy time with their loved ones. We extend this invitation to their spouses and children, ensuring their stay is comfortable and meaningful. Most importantly, this weekend serves as a heartfelt salute and thank-you to these heroes, offering them a break from therapy to relax with their families.

Monthly Support Program

Through the generous funds raised from the Hooks for Heroes Charity Tournament and your gracious donations, we partner with Disabled American Veterans Stamford Chapter 13's "Operation Gift Cards". Each month, our delegations personally deliver Thank You Cards and Gift Cards to troops at their bedside. Additionally, we provide care packages containing toiletries, snacks, and Gift Cards to the military base PX for families who have relocated or are staying with their loved ones during recovery.

Nonprofit Organization

Hooks for Heroes CT Inc. is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation, no matter the amount, makes a direct impact in supporting these courageous men and women who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
